Job description:
• Will be responsible for the overall performance and management of the Business Development & Marketing department, which is to increase business and market services offered by Port Services Corporation.
• Recommend and develop marketing and business development strategy in line with the corporate goals and lead the marketing team to achieve these goals.
• Promote the services and facilities at PSQ to bring in additional business (Export, Import and Transshipment) from existing/ new Shipping Lines and Port users.
• Identify niche businesses that will maximize the benefit and profit of the Port and additional services that can be provided to port users.
• Provide effective Customer services and maintain an effective relationship with all customers and other authorities.
• Develop and implement an effective Management Information System (MIS) related to marketing and business development including marketing research/ study, vessel and cargo forecasts and periodic statistical reports/ returns.
• Prepare Port’s annual revenue/income budgets from expected vessels and cargo, traffic through the port as well as promotional and other expenditure necessary to achieve the planned objectives.
• To organize the effective managing, deployment, development and training of the department’s employees.
• To keep abreast of the latest developments in the department’s area of operation.
• To prepare periodic budgets for the department in line with the Corporation’s objectives and monitor actual performance of the department in comparison to the budget.
• To ensure appropriate implementation of port tariff and participation in the negotiation of charges to port users.
• To participate in special projects, assignments and committees as may be directed by the Executive President.
• To effectively coordinate and cooperate with other management members as a team to achieve the Corporation’s goals and objectives.
• To carry out any other duties and assignments as may be directed by the Executive President.
